Prepping:
1.) Remove all staples.
2.) Review the document page by page. Look for color paper and for the use
of highlighter pen. (If the document has been highlighted in green,
orange, pink, and/or blue, you’ll want to be aware, so you can see how the
document scans in and whether you can see through the highlight on the
resulting scanned document.). Adjust scanner settings to optimize scan
quality.
3.) Check for double-sided pages. If found, you have the option to either
make single-sided copies, so scanning can be done in single-sided mode
–or- change your scanner options to allow for duplex scanning. Keep in
mind that you may have to delete blank pages from your scanning job if
not all of the pages have information on both sides. Remove sticky notes.
Transfer pertinent information from sticky note on to original document.
4.) Unfold & straighten document, if necessary.
5.) Remove sticky notes. Transfer pertinent information from sticky note on to
original document.
6.) Separate documents into categories, if necessary.
7.) Count the # of pages in each stack and write them for verification
purposes.
Scanning:
1.) Log in to Laserfiche.
2.) Depending on which document types you’re scanning, navigate to the
appropriate sub-folder. Please note that your documents will scan into
whichever folder you select, and the folder cannot be changed unless you
close the scanner software.
3.) Scan:
a. Select the scan button from the Laserfiche toolbar:

c. Place document into the scanner and select the “Start Scanning”
button in Laserfiche:
