Outlook provides an option to work offline, which prevents the ability to send or receive emails.
Follow the steps below to navigate through Outlook to quickly identify and switch between working offline/online.
There are a few quick ways to identify if you are in Work Offline mode.
At the bottom right hand corner of Outlook you will see the time you went offline, followed by a circled X, and Working Offline:
You may also see a red x on the Outlook icon located on the taskbar at the bottom of your screen. (Taskbar setups differ, and may be hidden. Icons shown in picture may vary):
Locate and click on the Send/Receive tab on the ribbon at the top of Outlook:
At the far right you will see the Work Offline button.
The shaded background indicates the Work Offline mode is selected:
Click the Work Offline button. The shaded background disappears, indicating the Work Offline mode is NOT selected:
You will notice the changes at the bottom right of Outlook, and the Outlook icon on the taskbar:
You should start to receive messages in your inbox shortly, and all emails in your outbox will be sent.
